Staff Directory
In this section, learn how to:
- Create a staff or department directory within Aspen
- Add as much or as little information as you like!
With Aspen's web builder, you can easily generate a staff or department directory without any HTML coding knowledge. Just enter in the employee information, upload photos if desired, and you'll have a directory page for your catalog! This is a great option for libraries who wish to use Aspen Discovery to build out their entire website, but can be a great supplement even if you're only using Aspen for its discovery functions.
Building a Staff Directory

Navigate to Aspen Administration → Web Builder → Staff Members.

Click Add New.

Select the Library where the staff member works. Then, fill out any other information you'd like to include about the staff member. These fields are optional, so include as much or as little information as you want.

If uploading a photo, keep within the 500 x 500 px guideline.

Save changes at the bottom.

Repeat this process to add more staff members.
Once you've built your staff directory, you can preview the page Aspen generates by appending this to the end of your Aspen catalog URL:
/WebBuilder/StaffDirectory
For example: catalog.yourlibrary.org/WebBuilder/StaffDirectory
Once you have your staff directory finalized, you'll need to add a menu link to the page in order for your users to find it. You can simply add that URL alias above to the URL field when you create the link. Click here to read more about adding new menu links.
