A common question about Aspen Discovery is, "Is Aspen Discovery mobile responsive?" and the answer is, "Yes!"
Many library users access the library catalog from a mobile device like a cell phone or tablet.
All of our developments make sure the mobile User Experience is just as intuitive as the desktop User Experience.

Home Page View and Browse Categories
Below is the Home Page view on mobile. It displays one main Browse Category at a time. Users can navigate with the left and right arrows.
Users can tap on the covers to get more information on the title, place a hold, checkout econtent, Add to List,
Searching
Pictured Left: If users tap on Keyword (default), a dropdown menu will display the other search types available.
Pictured Right: If users tap on in Library Catalog (default), a dropdown menu will display the other search indexes available on the library catalog. This will vary depending on the library and the intergrations set up for the library.
Menu Links
Menu Links will display as icons if within the Menu Links settings, Show Icon In Top Menu is checked. If not, the Menu Links will automatically shift over to the side hamburger menu.
On the right hand side, the Arrow icon is where users Sign In.
From the 3 line/hamburger menu, users can also navigate to My Account, see Library Hours & Location information, see a link to the Library Website and change the catalog into other language translations.
Facets/Filters
To narrow down the search, users can tap the Filters botton to expand the available facets.
These facets are defined in the Grouped Work Facets settings and will vary by catalog.
Search Tools
Most libraries will see a Search Tools button at the top of search results.
Note: If you are not seeing the button at the top, check all the way at the bottom of the search for these options. Display placement is controlled by the Group Work Display settings > Search Results > Enable Search Tools and Show Search Results at Top of Search.
Click on Search Tools will display Sort by options, cover display options and options related to saving and exporting the search results.
Record Details and Formats
In the search results, information that is clickable will be hyperlinked including Author name, Series information, Appears on these lists and Description.
To see all available formats, hold buttons and econtent checkout buttons, click on any of the hyperlink Formats to expand.
Sign In
Users can tap on the Arrow Icon in the top right corner of their screen to pop up the Sign In modal.
Shortcuts to Account Menus
Once signed in, users can access their Account by either the person icon or the three lines/hamburger menu.
If a user taps underneath the person icon, they will see a dropdown of shortcuts to different areas of the patron account. Users can also Sign Out from here.
If users tap on the three lines/hamburger menu > Your Account, they will also be taken to their account.
Checked Out Titles
Users can tap on Checked Out Titles to manage their physical and econtent holdings. This view will vary depending on the econtent providers that the library subscribes to.
Titles on Hold
Users can tap on Titles on Hold to manage their physical and econtent holds. This view will vary depending on the econtent providers that the library subscribes to.
If allowed, holds can be canceled, frozen/suspended and thawed/reactivated.
Lists
Users can tap on Lists to create new lists and view and manage exisitng lists.
Your Library Card
Users have access to scannable library cards/barcodes in Your Account > Your Library Card
If the library is using an Expired Card Renewal Form (defined in Library Systems > Card Renewal) a Renew your card button will show under the Library Card. Tapping on that button will redirect to the form.
